Just as how many drivers wash their vehicle by hand from the outside, one should not forget to clean the car interior. Because, on the one hand, a cleaned interior enhances the entire car, for example, when it is resold, on the other hand, only a fully maintained car also makes a good impression. CAR INTERIOR CLEANING: WHICH PRODUCTS ARE NEEDED?
Various cleaning agents are required for extensive and orderly car interior cleaning. If you have a garage or a parking space, you can clean the interior of the vehicle there. In any case, a power connection is necessary to use a vacuum cleaner. If you do not have the option of cleaning the interior of the car at home, you can do this at a self-service car wash, for example. Water and cleaning utensils such as a sponge, microfiber cloth, chamois and brush are required to clean and care for the interior of the car. If you like it particularly clean in the interior, you can also work with a vacuum cleaner. Glass cleaners, upholstery cleaners, stain cleaners and plastic care ensure stain-free and glossy.
FIRST STEPS OF CAR INTERIOR CLEANING
For a clean interior, you should first remove all coarse objects such as candy wrappers and old parking tickets from the shelf in the center console and from the doors. Don't forget the trunk, because shopping bags and umbrellas like to be stored here. It is therefore better to clear out the entire trunk right away so that you can really get into every corner of the car interior. In addition, the floor mats must be lined out properly and the ashtray emptied. For a continuously cleaned car interior, this work should be carried out once a week. A proper interior cleaning of the car is recommended once a month.
CAR INTERIOR CLEANING: START VACUUMING
For a thorough cleaning of the inside of the car, a strong vacuum cleaner must be used to remove crumbs, dust, dirt and animal hair from the floor mats, footwell, trunk and headliner. It is best to start with the driver's side and thoroughly vacuum all surfaces of the seat and footwell. For a successful car interior cleaning, the rear seat should be folded down and also vacuumed underneath. After the seat cushion and footwell are free of dirt, storage areas, side compartments of the doors, air vents, but also cracks and gaps should be worked with the
vacuum cleaner. Because here the rule is: the better the preparation, the better the overall result of the cleaned interior. Usually it is enough to be sucked out of the car headlining - should spots have spread here, can be removed with a mild interior cleaner. The trunk should be vacuumed particularly thoroughly, especially under the floor cover. CLEANING THE INSIDE OF THE CAR: TIPS FOR FITTINGS AND COCKPIT
When cleaning the dashboard and cockpit, less is sometimes more. A soft, lint-free cloth and lukewarm water are best for cleaning the fittings. If you want to have something from the fittings for a long time, do without cleaning agents - these can attack the plastic pane in front of the dashboard and leave the smallest scratches or a matt, milky film. Soapy water is sufficient to clean the cockpit cover. Simply dip it into the alkali with a soft and clean cloth, wring it out and wipe it lightly over the cockpit. Commercial cockpit sprays promise additional care and shine. It is important to note that these have an antistatic effect - otherwise the car interior was quickly wasted and dust is deposited on the cockpit cover again shortly after maintenance.
DON'T FORGET PLASTIC COVERS WHEN CLEANING THE CAR INTERIOR
Liquid plastic care is suitable for all other plastic covers. This should be applied thinly to the area to be cleaned with a soft cloth and then polished depending on the desired effect.
CLEAN INSIDE MIRRORS AND WINDOWS
For a better view, mirrors and windows should not be forgotten when cleaning the car interior. Conventional glass cleaner is completely sufficient for the care of the mirrors and panes. If you don't have a glass cleaner at hand, you can also treat the glass with a chamois and lukewarm water with a splash of vinegar. The interior of the car also includes washing the sun visors. Tip for a good result of the windshield: It is better to clean from the passenger seat, because you usually have more freedom of movement from there to get into the cracks. For rear windows with heating wires, you should always wipe only parallel to the embedded wires.
CAR INTERIOR CLEANING: HOW TO GET UPHOLSTERY FREE OF STAINS
Foam cleaners are available for upholstery cleaning, which are sprayed onto the dirty area and then massaged in with a damp cloth. After a few minutes, this foam must be vacuumed off again with a wet and dry vacuum cleaner. However, the whole procedure is easier with a vacuum cleaner. A vacuum cleaner sprays the cleaner directly onto the car seat and sucks up the liquid - together with the dirt. Not only upholstery, but also textile surfaces can be freed from dirt and odors. If your own purchase of a vacuum cleaner is too expensive, you can borrow such a device for thorough car interior cleaning.
CLEAN LEATHER SEATS: HOW IT WORKS
If you want to clean the inside of the car, you should definitely use special leather care products. If the leather seats have strong stains, they can be treated with a leather care foam. After that, impregnation of the leather is mandatory to prevent dirt accumulation or stains in the future. Disadvantage: Leather care is usually a little more expensive, but these products keep the leather soft and supple after car interior cleaning, which also makes the second skin more durable.
